Lyttle receives petition from Victims and Survivors at Stormont

Alliance OFMDFM spokesperson Chris Lyttle MLA has received a petition from Victims and Survivors at Stormont today over a shortfall in support for them. The petition was organised by the WAVE Trauma centre.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “It was a challenging and humbling experience to receive the petitions and to listen to the stories they have to tell. We must never forget those who were injured or bereaved during the Troubles.

“There is no one size fits all response for victims and survivors, different people have varying experiences and so require different degrees and forms of support. The new victims and survivors service will provide a single point of access and will provide a valuable role in co-ordinating services.

“My colleague Naomi Long MP will also be hosting WAVE at an event in Westminster next week to hear their concerns at the past and current level of support they have been given.”
