Lyttle pays tribute to Matt Baggott

Alliance Policing Board spokesperson, Chris Lyttle MLA, has paid tribute to PSNI Chief Constable Matt Baggott who has announced that he will retire when his contract ends.

Chris Lyttle MLA said:”I would like to thank Matt for the work that he has carried out as Chief Constable over the past five years.

“When he was appointed as Chief Constable he stated that he wanted to focus on community policing and we are seeing the positive results of his proposals.

“The PSNI have faced a difficult period with sustained outbreaks of public disorder in the past 18 months but Matt has showed courage and leadership in the face of difficult circumstances.

“I would like to wish him all the best for the future.

“I look forward to an orderly and timely process to appoint a new Chief Constable.”
