Lyttle hosts RNIB sensory engagement event at Stormont

Alliance East Belfast Chris Lyttle MLA hashosted a RNIB sensory engagement event at Stormont today. The question timestyle event in the Senate Chamber of Parliament Buildings brought around 120 topush for positive change for blind and partially sighted people. Chris is ViceChair of the OFMDFM Committee which has responsibility for scrutinising theExecutive’s disability strategy.

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “It was greatto be able to host RNIB in Stormont today and to give their supporters andactivists an opportunity to voice their thoughts on how we can improve thelives and opportunities of blind and partially sighted people.

“To be able to hear directly theproblems that people face and what they think can be done has certainly ensuredthat I am better informed on these issues.

“I would like to extend my thanks toall those involved today, it was a thoroughly well organised day and hascertainly ensured that the Executive is reminded of the importance of dealingwith issues around those who are blind and partially sighted.”
