East Belfast Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle has expressed deep sadness at the death of a man following a fire in a flat in the Station Road area of Sydenham yesterday evening.
Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This is a terrible tragedy and the family and friends of the man who passed away are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
“This is extremely sad news and the community is in a state of shock at what has happened. My thoughts are also with the emergency services who were so quick to respond to this incident.
“This is a very close and friendly community and I am sure that people will be rallying round at this time to provide support following this tragic news.”
