Lyttle encourages nominations for IFA community awards

Alliance sports spokesperson, Chris Lyttle MLA, has encouraged people to submit nominations for the IFA community awards 2014. Nominations can be made by visiting www.mcdonalds.co.uk/awards. Individuals or clubs can be nominated for the following awards -Community Relations Award, Young Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Accredited Club of the Year, Female Coach of the Year, Disability Football Coach of the Year, Coach of the Year and the People’s Award (for Outstanding Contribution to Football).

Chris Lyttle MLA said: “There are many coaches and volunteers in grassroots football who give up their free time to help young people in their local community.

“They take part for the love of the game rather than awards and recognition, but I think it is important that we celebrate and pay tribute to their work.

“I would encourage people to nominate those individuals and clubs who have made a real difference in their local community and deserve recognition. These awards are a great way to highlight the work in grassroots football while at the same time allowing the community to express their gratitude to these coaches and volunteers.”
