The local scheme was named Project of the Year at the RICS Northern Ireland Awards, recognised for its buzzing centre, striking designs and sustainability credentials.
Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I want to congratulate and pay tribute to all involved in making the Skainos Project such a success. This award recognises the hard work that has made the scheme what it is today.
“Skainos must be commended for the impact it has had across East Belfast, ensuring regeneration and providing a shared space for the whole community. The Alliance Party believes projects like this are essential as we move towards creating a truly shared future where everyone can play their part and is treated fairly and with respect.
“The Skainos Project deserves this recognition and I hope it can inspire other groups across Northern Ireland with its desire to create shared space for everyone.”
The Skainos Project was also awarded the Community Benefit award and came highly commended in the Regeneration award section.
