Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This is a magnificent achievement. I would like to extend my congratulations to all the players and staff involved in the team. Their hard work and training has paid off and it is great to the see the Elite League trophy returning to Belfast for a fourth time.
“They are a very successful team who have created a great family friendly atmosphere at the Odyssey. They are a model for other sporting teams to follow.
“I would also like to pay tribute to their former owner Jim Gillespie, who played a vital role in the success of the team. It is a fitting honour that he has recently been inducted into British Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.”
