East Belfast Alliance MLA Chris Lyttle said: “There can be no response other than complete revulsion to this type of ignorant hate crime in our society. The local community are rightly appalled by the cowardly and reckless intimidation of this hard working family.
“I would urge anybody with any information about these attacks to contact the police. The people behind these attacks are mindless idiots and are not representative of Northern Ireland.”
Alliance Castlereagh East Councillor Tim Morrow said: “I utterly condemn this attack and have personally delivered my support to this family. I will be giving my full support to the majority of residents and local churches and community groups working to ensure people of all backgrounds are welcome to live, work and socialise in Ballybeen.”
