Commenting on the bomb alert outside the Alliance Party office, East Belfast MLA Chris Lyttle said: “Whether a hoax or viable device, this is a serious and reckless act. There are homes, businesses and a children’s play park in the area. This is an attack on the community and democratically elected representatives. It will not deter my colleagues and I from delivering for the constituents and businesses in East Belfast that we are elected to serve.
“This act has served no cause or purpose other than to endanger and disrupt people going about their daily business and should be condemned by all.
“This does not represent the majority of people who support a shared and better future for East Belfast, which we will continue to work to deliver.”
