Chris Lyttle MLA said: “This was an absolutely appalling attack. The whole community is in shock that a young child was injured during this incident. The fact that the police are treating this attack as sectarian is also extremely disturbing. My thoughts are with the girl that was injured and I hope that she makes a swift recovery.
“This was an absolutely despicable incident and I appeal to anyone with information on it to contact police immediately so that those behind this can be quickly brought to justice.”
