Lunn says Cameron support for shared future shows need to improve community relations

Alliance Lagan Valley MLA Trevor Lunn has said that people outside of Northern Ireland like the Prime Minister David Cameron have seen the importance of implementing a shared future, it is time the other parties also supported it. His comments come as Cameron said there was a need to develop a shared future rather than a shared future.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “Alliance have always been firm supporters of improving community relations and worked to eradicate the divisions in our society, so I would welcome David Cameron’s comments on a shared future.

“People from outside Northern Ireland can see the need to develop a shared future, it is about time other political leaders in Northern Ireland also supported it.

“So far, other political parties are only interested in a shared out future so I am glad that the Prime Minister has said that it is unacceptable that they are supporting this rather than a truely shared future.

“It is important that we take on board the views of people from outside Northern Ireland as they are the people who will be investing here and creating jobs here. If we want to improve our economy then we need to develop a shared future otherwise investors will not look favourably on Northern Ireland.”
