Alliance Upper Bann representative Tara Lunn has expressed shock and deep sadness following the death of a child in a car crash in Banbridge.
The eight-year-old boy died following the two-car crash on the Aughnacloy Road around 5.30pm yesterday (Saturday). Three other people were taken to hospital and are being treated for serious injuries.
“I am absolutely horrified by this news, which will shock and sadden everyone in the local community and further afield,” said Ms Lunn.
“My deepest sympathies are with the family of this poor little boy, as they have suffered the most tragic of losses, and I sincerely hope the other three people injured in the crash recover from their injuries fully and as soon as possible.
“I would call on anyone with any information to come forward and help the authorities piece together the sequence of events which led to this terrible tragedy.”
