Lunn disgusted by threats to Derry City Council workers

Alliance Policing Board member, Trevor Lunn MLA, has condemned those responsible for death threats that have been issued to community safety wardens working for Derry City Council. The Council has withdrawn the wardens until the threats are lifted.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “I am disgusted that Council staff, who are mainly dealing with low-level anti-social behaviour, have been threatened in this manner. There can be no justification for these threats. I would like to express my support to these Council workers.

“I am pleased to have seen the widespread condemnation and hope the message will get through to those responsible that the city and the wider Northern Ireland society believe their actions to be abhorrent.

“Whoever is responsible must immediately lift these threats and allow the community safety wardens to return to their duties.”
