Lunn congratulates A-level pupils on their results

Alliance Education spokesperson Trevor Lunn MLA has congratulated A-level pupils who have today received their results. The pass rate has stayed the same at 98.1%, but the number of A* and A grades has gone down to 31.9% from 34.5%.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “I would like to pass on my congratulations to the thousands of pupils who have received their A-level results. After two years of hard work, I hope everybody gets the results they needed.

“It must also be a proud day for their teachers to see years of studying pay off for those they have taught.

“This is another set of excellent results which is a credit to both our young people and our education system even though it is facing a difficult time at the minute.

“There are however going to be those who did not get the grades they needed to go to their University choice and I would urge them not to worry and know that help is available. Some of the Universities may accept people who narrowly missed their grades and there are also places available through clearing by contacting UCAS.”
