Lucky escape after car crashes at school

Responding to news that four police vehicles were damaged and 10 officers injured following a road crash outside a Belfast primary school this morning, Assembly member for East Belfast Naomi Long stated:

“Road conditions were treacherous this morning. The fact that the incident happened outside Knocknagoney primary school is obviously very concerning for parents in the area, who would have been starting to arrive with their children around that time.

“If the collision had occurred a matter of minutes later, things could have been much worse. It was a lucky escape all round, though not for whoever was behind the wheel of the stolen vehicle.

“This was a serious incident that could have left innocent people badly hurt, and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to report it to the PSNI.”
