offices of a local body that represents independent retailers.
Naomi Long MP visited the offices of the Northern Ireland Independent Retail
Trade Association (NIIRTA) in Ballyhackamore, which opened today (Friday).
The body represents over 1,000 independent retailers across Northern Ireland,
including wholesalers, suppliers and others, and the office will operate as the
organisation’s headquarters.
East Belfast MP Mrs Long said the move to her constituency was an important
one, given the proliferation of independent retail businesses here.
“East Belfast in general and Ballyhackamore in particular has a growing number
of independent retailers, who offer a real choice to local people when it comes
to the retail experience. NIIRTA setting up offices here is confirmation that
this community is a rapidly developing and vibrant one.
