Long takes Shadow Secretary of State on East Belfast tour

East Belfast Alliance MP Naomi Long has taken Shadow Secretary of State Vernon Coaker on a tour around her constituency today, visiting a number of developments including the Comber Greenway, the Belfast Metropolitan College Titanic Quarter building, the Skainos Project, and the Northern Ireland Science Park.

Naomi Long MP said: “I was absolutely delighted to show off many of the exciting developments across East Belfast to the new Shadow of Secretary of State who appeared to be very impressed by the range and scale of the projects.

“I think that it is great that Vernon Coaker has taken the time to see around the constituency and to learn about the issues and challenges facing people across East Belfast. I believe that his visit will help Labour better understand local issues and I was delighted to able to show him a wide range of developments across East Belfast and to enable him to meet with people who are helping transform the city.

“We visited a number of projects with which I have been involved, including the Comber Greenway project, the new Belfast Metropolitan College building in the Titanic Quarter, the Skainos project on the Newtownards Road and the Northern Ireland Science Park. We also had briefings on the Connswater Greenaway Project and the plans to transform Templemore Primary School.”
