Naomi Long MP said: “Carers Week is a valuable opportunity for us all to recognise the tireless work of the many dedicated people in East Belfast and across the UK who care for family members and friends. Carers cope with a variety of physical, emotional and financial pressures and their sacrifices too often go unnoticed in our local communities. I believe that we need to work together to ensure that carers are provided with the support and resources needed to play this vital role.”
