Naomi Long MLA said: “It is vitally important that the East Belfast DPP can visit every area of the constituency and operate free from fear and intimidation.
“To try and deny people their right to voice their views on policing is totally unfair and anti-democratic.
“Last night’s events underline perfectly why Northern Ireland must move forward. Communities must be freed from those negative elements with nothing to offer other than fear.”
