Naomi Long MLA said: “Now is a time for cool heads in the DUP and Sinn Fein. The chasm which has developed must be bridged quickly. The blame game must end and agreement must be found.
“A segregated approach to tackling segregation is not just contradictory but damaging. We need political leadership on this issue. CSI will help strengthen the economy and could save lives. This disagreement needs to be resolved urgently because without CSI a vacuum will be created which would allow negative and dangerous elements to derail the progress made in building peace here.
“This strategy is essential for Northern Ireland to move forward to a shared future. This disagreement perfectly illustrates why we need CSI, there is division on our streets and there is division within government here.
“People are sick of the DUP and Sinn Fein failing to deliver. The CSI document has already been delayed and further delays will hurt out society.”
