Long hands out books to mark World Book Night

On March 5th, 2011, a million books were given away across Britain and Ireland. The promotion was the subject of a massive media campaign from December 2010, including the selection of titles and givers, and much discussion, culminating in an evening of book-based television programmes.

East Belfast Alliance MP Naomi Long chose the book by Mohsin Hamid entitled ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’. Naomi was sent 50 copies of her chosen book to give away on World Book Night. This event was the biggest book promotion ever.
