Long hails £1 million integration boost but says strategy needed urgently

Alliance Deputy Leader Naomi Long has welcomed the announcement of funding worth £1 million to support minority ethnic group projects but said she is annoyed that the Cohesion, Sharing and Integration strategy has not yet been implemented by OFMDFM.

Naomi Long MLA said: “I welcome this important investment but I am frustrated that the Cohesion, Sharing and Integration strategy is still not in place.

“We need the CSI strategy implemented urgently to guide spending and ensure that the maximum benefits can be realised. This continuing delay should be a source of acute embarrassment to the First and Deputy First Ministers and I will continue to press for quick progress on this important issue.”
