Long glad there will be public inquiry on Knock Road widening plan

East Belfast Alliance MLA Naomi Long has welcomed news that a public inquiry is to be held in relation to plans to widen a stretch of the A55 Knock Road. She said that she had been contacted by a number of local residents concerned with the proposals and that a public inquiry would give residents a real chance to have their say.

Naomi Long MLA said: “I welcome the fact that there will now be a public inquiry on the widening of a section of Knock Road. A large number of local residents are obviously deeply concerned in relation to these plans and I am very pleased that they will be given a genuine chance to have a say on this matter.

“We are glad that the Minister, Conor Murphy, has announced that a public inquiry is to be held because it’s the best way to ensure openness and transparency for everyone.”
