Alliance Communities spokesperson Naomi Long MLA has encouraged people right across Northern Ireland to participate in Community Relations and Cultural Awareness week.
Naomi Long said: “Northern Ireland has made great advances in community relations in recent years. The original aim of community relations events was to break down barriers between the two main religious denominations, but with the very welcome arrival of migrants from across the world, cultural diversity plays a growing role in day to day life.
“The Community Relations and Cultural Awareness week offers a wide range of events and opportunities for people right across Northern Ireland to get involved, to meet and learn about other communities and cultures. By reaching out and welcoming others, Northern Ireland becomes a richer and better place to live.”
“There are events right across Northern Ireland, and I would encourage everyone to participate in what will be a very interesting and exciting week.”
