Long condemns those behind East Belfast hoax alert

Alliance East Belfast MP Naomi Long has condemned those behind a suspicious package which was found at the home of a member of the public on Kinross Avenue in Tullycarnet on Monday night, which was later declared a hoax.

Naomi Long MP said: “Those responsible for this hoax device have caused fear and disruption for families in the area, not to mention the police resources expended on dealing with this rather than the kind of active community policing people want to see.

“There can be no justification for these hoaxes, and those behind them have nothing to offer but fear and intimidation.

“If anybody has any information about this hoax then I would urge them to contact the Police.”
