Alliance Deputy Leader Naomi Long MLA said: “This was a sickening and distressing attack which took place in a quiet, residential area.
“My thoughts at this time are with the victim of this harrowing assault, and I hope she can get over this.
“People in the locality are shocked that something like this has happened here and they hope that the police catch the thug involved in this attack as quickly as possible.
“Anyone who can help police with their investigation has a duty to the public to do so.”
