He said: “Any attack on an elected representative is an attack on democracy and I must condemn those behind these threats.
“In Northern Ireland we are trying to build a society where no individual falls victim to this type of behaviour because of their political background, instead people must be able to stand up for what they believe in.
“Politicians must be allowed to carry out their work for all constituents without the fear of intimidation and I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
