Anna Lo MLA said: “It is extremely worrying news that criminals feel they are able to hijack a car in the middle of one of the busiest roads in Belfast on a fairly busy evening.
“The fact that the person who hijacked this car actually pulled the car’s owner out of the vehicle shows the strong intent of this thug.
“It is shocking that criminals are not afraid to carry out their crimes in front of many others. I would urge anybody with information about this incident to contact the police immediately.”
