Lo says new planning complaints procedure must make process easier

Chair of the Environment Committee Anna Lo MLA, speaking as Alliance Environment Spokesperson has said she hopes a new planning complaints procedure being launched makes the process easier. She said this is crucial to ensure the public has more of a say in what is planned in their area.

Anna Lo MLA said: “I sincerely hope that these new procedures make it much easier and speedier for people to register their concerns about any plans.

“For far too long, the planning balance has been tilted towards developers and this move to address this balance is very welcome.

“People deserve a strong say in planning as the issue can have such a massive impact on people’s lives, through new developments changing the whole character of an area and seriously devalue someone’s property.”
