Lo says library opening shows strength of academia in Northern Ireland

South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has welcomed the opening of the £50 million McClay Library at Queen’s University saying it shows the strength of the academia here and is a very positive investment in our future in terms of education and expertise.

Anna Lo MLA, who is also Alliance Employment and Learning Spokesperson said: “The opening of this new library is great news for Queen’s University and for the wider academic sphere in Northern Ireland.

“The fact that we have this exciting project shows the strength of our academic sector in Northern Ireland. We have world-class facilities which will help us attract expertise and show that we can compete with the best in terms of academic achievement and research.

“Investing in academic facilities like this one is all about investing in our future and that’s very important for our economy. This new library will play a big part in academic life in years to come and I am very pleased it is now being opened.”
