Lo says Anti-Racist Workplace Week provides chance to call for CSI strategy

Alliance Employment and Learning Spokesperson Anna Lo MLA has said Anti-Racist Workplace Week is an important awareness raising initiative and said it provides a good opportunity to raise the broader issue of the need for a Cohesion, Sharing and Integration strategy for Northern Ireland. Anti-Racist Workplace Week runs from 19 until 23 October.

South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo said: “This is an important initiative that highlights a very serious issue and helps battle prejudice in the workplace. It also provides us with a great opportunity to pressure the First and Deputy First Minister yet again to introduce the important Cohesion, Sharing and Integration strategy to help tackle prejudice across our society.

“Anti-Racist Workplace Week is all about letting people knowing their rights and empowering those who have been subject to such abuse.

“People should be able to go about their daily work without the spectre of racism or harassment. People spend so much of their life at work and everything possible must be done to ensure fairness and respect in this context and outside of working hours too.”
