The MLA for South Belfast, who took part in the run last year, said the community event gave everyone the opportunity to walk or run together to help those living in developing countries.
Taking place on May 19, at Ormeau Park, Belfast, the event is open to everyone, with a 3K Family Fun Walk, a 3k and a 10k run all on offer.
Launching the event, Anna Lo MLA said: “I am delighted to sponsor the launch of the 2013 Belfast One World Run. Taking part last year, I can’t stress enough how much fun this event is and a great opportunity for communities to come together to raise money for some worthwhile causes.
“By taking part this year you will be raising vital funds for Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Oxfam Ireland and Trócaire, who together are supporting the IF campaign to end world hunger.
“I want to praise the organisers of this annual event and hope this year’s run will surpass all expectations. It doesn’t matter if you run, walk, skip or jump the course, it only matters that you take part. I am calling everyone to support the Belfast One World Run and help raise as much money as possible.”
