Lo condemns arson attack on flats in South Belfast

South Belfast Alliance Assembly Candidate Anna Lo has expressed shock and disgust at an arson attack on flats in South Belfast. Six people were rescued from the fire in Eglantine Avenue early this morning. The authorities are currently investigating the attack and are considering a possible racist motive.

Anna Lo said: “I am shocked and disgusted by this arson attack.

“There appears to be a very sinister element to this incident and the authorities have been examining the scene. We need to find out whether this arson attack was racially motivated.

“I hope that the authorities can ascertain the sequence of events leading up to this blaze as it is vitally important that those involved in this incident are brought to justice.

“I would like to take this opportunity to praise the fire service for their good work in rescuing six people from the blaze.”
