Lo and Curran call for vigilance as 3rd robbery in under 3 weeks hits Ormeau retailers

South Belfast MLA Anna Lo and Alliance Laganbank candidate Catherine Curran have called upon shop workers and public to be vigilant following a robbery in the Ormeau Road’s Oriel Pharmacy. The robbery which took place on Monday afternoon, saw one staff member of the pharmacy shot with a taser gun.

Catherine Curran said “This must have been an extremely distressing incident for the staff of the Oriel Pharmacy. I am deeply concerned about this and the previous break-ins at the nearby Mace store, and sincerely hope that this worrying trend does not continue. I would urge anyone with information relating to the incidents at the Oriel Pharmacy or Mace store to speak with the PSNI immediately.”

Anna Lo MLA said “These are difficult economic times and Christmas is a very important part of the retail calendar for all traders. I would urge everyone to be vigilant and be aware of their personal safety and security.”
