Cllr Alan Lawther said: “This must have been an absolutely terrifying ordeal for this man and my thoughts are with him and his family as they try to get over this experience.
“Randalstown is a quiet town that is not at all used to incidents of this nature. People in the town will be in shock that this has happened here.
“This involved must face the full rigours of the law and I would call on anyone who can help police with their investigation to call them immediately.”
