Kelly says hit-and-run incident horrific

Antrim Councillor Neil Kelly has said the injuring of a man in a hit-and-run incident in Crumlin was a “horrific incident”.

The Alliance Councillor was speaking after the man was struck while walking along Main Street in the village shortly before 3am today (Saturday). Police said the man was shouted at by the driver of a green Seat Leon, who then turned the car and hit him. The pedestrian was treated in hospital for a leg injury.

“This was a horrific crime and my thoughts are with the victim,” said Councillor Kelly.

“This man could easily have been killed and I wish him a swift recovery. The driver of the car clearly has no thought for the lives of others.

“If anybody has any information about this incident, they must contact the police.”
