The ambulance sustained about £600 worth of damage during the attack on the Dublin Road, which occurred while it was responding to an emergency call.
Councillor Neil Kelly said: “I completely condemn this outrageous attack. Those responsible must be found and dealt with before the courts.
“This will have been a terrifying experience for the staff involved as they responded to a routine call. Paramedics provide an expert service and they should not have to face this type of behaviour while trying to help a person in need.
“There is absolutely no excuse for this type of behaviour, we can only be thankful no one was hurt.”
