Local Alliance Councillor Mervyn Jones has called on Belfast City Council to open up a book of condolence for East Belfast guitar legend Gary Moore at City Hall. The Council Group Leaders are meeting today to discuss the issue.
East Belfast Councillor and fan of Gary’s music, Mervyn Jones said: “I believe that Gary Moore was the best rock and blues guitarist that Northern Ireland has ever produced.
“He never forgot where he came from and he played in front of many, many packed houses in Belfast down the years.
“I strongly believe that there should be a book of condolence for Gary at City Hall and I will be doing my best to deliver one.”
