Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “The situation within the IFA is not good for football and it’s not good for fans or clubs either. This is a deeply troubling scenario and we need to see this independent review being carried out as soon as possible.
“The IFA really needs to build the confidence of the public in its organisation after recent events.
“Ideally Alliance wants to see a shared stadium being built for football, GAA and rugby here but no matter what happens we need to see the independent review happening quickly so that the IFA can move forward and ensure that its governance and mechanisms work effectively.”
