A North Down councillor has said Holywood is becoming an easy target for robbers.
Alderman Susan O’Brien was speaking after a garage was robbed this morning on the Old Holywood Road, Redburn, for the second time in five weeks.
The Post Office at Abbey Place was also robbed last Friday in the town and a chemist’s about five weeks ago.
Ald O’Brien said: “The increase in the number of robberies recently leads me to believe that Holywood is now seen as an easy target by unscrupulous people.”
“My big concern is that there are not enough police to patrol Holywood adequately at present, and I would call for more PSNI cars on the road to deter further robberies.”
“I would also urge anyone who knows anything about these robberies to contact the PSNI with any information they have.”
