Cllr Tony Hill said: “This attack was simply despicable. This harrowing incident has sent shockwaves through the local community
“My thoughts are with the young woman at what must surely be a very difficult time.
“There have not been many assaults of this nature in Bangor recently, but even one sexual assault is too many.
“I would urge anybody with information about this attack to contact the police. The person behind this must be brought before the courts as soon as possible.”
