A man escaped injury after five petrol bombs were thrown at a house in the Short Strand area on Sunday night, while a further four petrol bombs were thrown in the Bryson Street area of the Short Strand on Monday night.
Councillor Maire Hendron said: “I am disappointed to hear of these attacks in East Belfast. I wholeheartedly condemn these incidents and call for calm across the community.
“It is unsettling that some still feel the need to resort to these violent measures, rather that engaging across the community to find a lasting peaceful solution.
“We cannot allow those opposed to a shared future and a better Northern Ireland to dictate how we live within our communities. It is incidents like these that deflect attention away from the good community work across the area.
“I would appeal if anyone has any information to contact the PSNI immediately.”
