Hendron condemns attack on film crew member in South Belfast

Pottinger Alliance Party Councillor Máire Hendron has condemned those involved in an attack on a member of a crew working on a feature film, who is from the Short Strand area, which took place on Friday afternoon in the Village area of South Belfast.

Cllr Máire Hendron said: “This was a horrific incident and I am absolutely shocked and appalled at what happened.

“This must have been a terrible ordeal and my thoughts are with the person who was subjected to this. The person who was attacked was working on a project which is helping to build Belfast’s burgeoning film and creative industries and the stark contrast between the role this person is playing compared to the brutal and disgusting message that this attack sends out is deeply shocking. I would appeal to anyone with information on this attack to contact the police immediately.”
