The Strangford MLA stated: “At a human level, it is a total and utter disgrace that these jobs losses have been announced so late in the week. One cannot help but think this is deliberate.
“As a party, we are in no doubt at all that money and resources can be moved from administration to front-line services. But an immediate loss of 1,700 jobs looks like cosmetic cost-cutting, pure and simple.
“We will be asking questions to ensure those who have lost out are well looked after, and to ensure that those who are supposed to be operating front-line services are fully resourced to do so.”
