Former Lisburn Mayor says housing boost must meet needs of local people

Former Lisburn Mayor and Lagan Valley Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn has welcomed news that plans are to be unveiled to give Lisburn a 77 million pound housing boost. He did however call for the Minister Margaret Ritchie to ensue that local peoples’ views and needs are taken into account. Margaret Ritchie and her Department will soon be launching the new housing strategy for the city.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “I strongly welcome this large cash boost for the housing sector in Lisburn. The lack of housing locally is a considerable issue and I would hope that this cash will help alleviate this problem.

“I would like to take this chance to call on the Minister to ensure that local people’s needs are met and their views heard regarding the plan.

“This funding is much needed. Its potential benefits for local people must be maximised through careful planning and consultation.”
