Alliance Leader David Ford will be meeting with local Dorma management and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment today to see what options there are for the future of the Randalstown textile firm.
Mr Ford said: “This is a sad day for Randalstown, and a tragic loss for the Dorma workers. It has been a difficult time for this kind of industry and there are real concerns in the village for the future.”
“Today I will be meeting with local management and the DETI to look at any options for the factory. If it is not possible to save the business in its current form, other options for both factory and workers must be examined.”
“This was a very committed workforce, and there is a sense of real disappointment that the management buy-out has failed.”
