David Ford said: “The protests show the sheer strength of feeling against these evil acts.
“People have spoken with one voice. This is a new Northern Ireland. People want peace, and over the past few days have shown they also want a united community.
“To overcome these elements politicians and the community must continue to stand together. We must show leadership and show that Northern Ireland will never let this small number of individuals destabilise this region.”
