“However, the biggest single question facing us now is how to establish a fair and transparent process for dealing with the past. Whatever emerges from the inquiry, there is a moral obligation to deliver for victims and survivors. Whatever differences we have about what has happened, we must work together to build a shared future for everyone.
“Parties must not use these revelations as an excuse for not dealing with the outstanding issues of flags, parades and the past. The task may now be more difficult than ever, but it is also more important than ever.”
