David Ford MLA said: “This is great news for the local as well as the wider Northern Ireland economy.
“The fact that they are investing in research and development should be especially welcomed as this is exactly the type of economic driver that can boost our country’s finances.
“The local area, like most in Northern Ireland, was hit hard by the economic downturn but this job boost will show that we can get back on our feet. It shows that Northern Ireland is a good place for businesses to expand and invest in.
“We have good resources in place for businesses with our large pool of highly qualified young people, our strong history of manufacturing and our low cost base. I hope that these factors will enable more jobs announcements in the future.”
