Ford and Keenan condemn pipe bomb in Antrim

Antrim Alliance Councillor Oran Keenan and local MLA David Ford have condemned an incident involving a pipe bomb being left outside a house in Portlee Walk in Parkhall estate in Antrim. The army bomb squad we called to the scene around 8.30pm last night and this is the second time the house has been targeted recently with shots being fire at it just over a week ago.

Antrim Town Alliance Councillor Oran Keenan said: “Those behind this deserve our absolute contempt and need to be stopped immediately.

“People are sick of this type of thuggery happening in their community. Anyone with information on this must come forward to police to help take these sickening individuals off our streets.”

South Antrim Alliance MLA David Ford said: “There is no place in our society for those who use fear and intimidation to try and take a stranglehold over the community. People in the area have only hatred for those who have violent agenda.

“People have a responsibility to work with police to catch these individuals and ensure there can be no more incidents like this in the town.”
